I would like opinions on possible baby names, anyone?

Hi! I am 18 weeks preg with my husband and I's first child. We are not sure what sex the baby is, and we are not finding out- we want it to be a big surprise. Anyways, I was just wondering what anyone thinks of these baby names we are most likely using

If the baby is a boy, he will be named: Jonah Gabriel

And

If the baby is a girl, she will be named: Cairistiona Elizabeth (I know cairisiona is long, but we are just planning on "calling" her carrie)

We want the names to be strictly biblical (were christian) and the boys name and middle name are both biblical, but the first girls name is not biblical but it has christian meaning- In Gaelic Cairistiona means "Follower of Christ". But Elizabeth is biblical as well.

So what does everyone think of these names??

I would like opinions on possible baby names, anyone?
The boy's name is fine, but the girl's not so much. Can you imagine what she will go through at school? I would seriously reconsider.
Reply:Am not a religious person, so I can't really approve of the use of strictly biblical names..

That aside, I think that Jonah kinda reminds me of the Jonas brothers, LOL ! ahh, I don't really like the boy's names. You can do better than that!

as for the girl, I think Caristiona is very pretty, and carrie is as well. elizabeth is kinda overused, but since it's the middle name it's okay
Reply:I think that those names are very nice. I like that you are giving you child a name to follow your beliefs, but what if the child grows up to not follow what you and your husband believe? Once the child gets their own thoughts and feelings, do you think this will be a problem?
Reply:Jonah Gabriel is cute.

Cairistiona I can't pronounce at all.

Carrie Elizabeth is cute.
Reply:sorry, i den't like Cairistiona, but if you want biblical, i love Hannah and Abigail
Reply:Nice. Mary and Hannah are biblical too. So are John, James, and Matthew.

Answer my question please!

Reply:For a girl, Marina Rose. and for a boy, Myles or Jonathan. I love those names.
Reply:Theresa Mary or Mary Theresa would be a good name for a girl

Mattew ( you could call him mat or mattie for short ) John
Reply:I love the Idea of that. The names are Adorable.I am a christian as well.Good luck and congrats!
Reply:Good luck!! I hope you will be very happy!

These names are great, I like them both.
Reply:WoW absolutely stunning...I love the names you have chosen...congrats!!!
Reply:i think those names are great! they sound really pretty.
Reply:if i were you, i would name the boy Kanye West!
Reply:I love Jonah Gabriel! Gabriel's getting pretty popular, so I'm glad you're using the less common Jonah as his first name. I don't think names can be too biblical, especially since biblical names are very in style right now. (Tons of non-Christian parents are using choices like Elijah and Gabriel.) It's important to give children names with good meanings. Of course, that doesn't guarantee they'll live up to those meanings, but that doesn't mean the name would be ridiculous on them. If I met a Jonah, I wouldn't immediately assume he was a practicing Christian, and I wouldn't think the name was ridiculous if he weren't. I'd probably guess his parents were Christians, but I actually wouldn't be too surprised if I learned they weren't either.

As far as the girls' name goes, I love Elizabeth, and I think Cairistiona is appealing but a bit complicated. Unless you are trying to honor Gaelic heritage, you might consider Christiana instead -- it's the Latinate version of the same name, and I think it would prove a bit more usable. Charis Elizabeth (KAR-iss) would be another good choice -- it's a Greek name meaning "grace." I knew a girl in college with this name, and I loved it. I feel like I'm not quite cool enough to use it, but if I were cooler, it's what I'd want to name my daughter! :)

Best wishes, and I hope this helps!
