My favorite name is Demetria like Demeter and you can shorten it to Demi which is so cute! I also love Aphrodite, Athena, Helena, Persephone, etc.
A good place would be to buy a book on greek mythology or something and just read it. You will find lots of pretty names! Hope I helped and good luck-!
Reply:Cassandra! its classy, pretty, and from greek (or something) mythology! its a story of a woman who predicts the future, but nobody believes her. so when she predicted the trojan war, nobody believed her and they all died during the trojan war! thats so cool! and you can call her Cassie for short!
thats my name =P except spelled with an E at the end cuz i'm french.

Unusual baby girls names please baby due any time?
We named our daughter Elizabeth Grace and have gotten many compliments on it because it's pretty and nice and traditional. I guess the traditionalness of the name is what makes it unusual, in a world of Rumors and Honors and Apples. I wanted to name her Willow, but my husband wasn't crazy about it. Also, if the name is too unusual, then she could get picked on at school, or not even find a personalized bike plate, note pad, etc. (I remember that in one of the Ramona books.)
If you do want unusual, you would have to be careful. There is a girl on "Days of Our Lives" who is rarely seen as she is under five, but is named Ciara, which reminds me of a male impotency pill. Yeah. That's a great reputation to have in high school, especially for a girl, regardless of what she does and doesn't do.
Reply:uh'mm Congrates !!!. Lets see: [Samus was from a video game I played atleast 6 to 7 hours daily !?! Reply:why do you want an unusual name? do you want your kid to have no friends or something. cuz kids ARENT deep enough to look past names.

Looking for Hebrew baby name suggestion?
Can anyone suggest a hebrew baby name (either male or female) that means something along the lines of strength or perseverance? My wife and I are looking to name after a grandparent who survived the Holocaust.
Thanks!

Reply:nah forget the holocaust--why do u want to always be remembered by a mass slaughter? but urm Ezekiel could be good, "strength of God"
Reply:Uziel, God is my strength
Gavriel, God is my warrior
Chaim, life
These were the best I can think of for what you want. The words for perseverance, endurance and strength don't really sound good as names.
Thanks!

What do you think of this baby name?
Gwendolyn Brea
- Gwendolyn is after my husband's grandmother
- Brea is after my best friend that passed away
I like the history and connection the names have with the family.
Good solid names? Or do I need to go back to the drawing board? Thanks!
What do you think of this baby name?
I actually really love this name .. its very unique but not too out there. You barely ever hear the name gwendolyn and the name brea is pretty and they flow well together.
Also the meaning behind it makes it 10x better .. meaning to a name is important and i think its great that your giving tribute to those people .. and when she grows up she will know why she was named that and the meaning behind it and not that it was the cool name of that time .. its great!
it reminds me of a classy, beautiful, feminine, smart, well-liked and just a person everyone feels comfortable with and loves ...
it also doesnt have anything i can think of of what kids could find to make fun .. which is a plus for her anyways
great pick .. id deff say stick to this!
good luck and congrats on the baby
Reply:Oh that is so lovely. Bittersweet. Congratulations
Reply:I think this name is beautiful! Both names individually are gorgeous and pairing them together is ingenious, it's one of the best combinations I have heard! Don't let anybody tell you this name is not good enough. The fact that you are using these names to honor people you love makes it all the better!
Reply:I like both names, but kinda like Gwendolyn Brie better
maybe you could use Brea as another girls name? if you plane to have ne others
Reply:I love it! that's beautiful!!
Reply:That's a pretty name with a great story behind it! She'll be glad you named her that.
Reply:If you have a history behind the name, it's beautiful. But if you really don't have a reason, it's not much in naming your child that. :)
Reply:That's perfect!
Escpecially since those names aren't weird!
Reply:The name sounds very sweet..
Reply:i love it
Reply:Absolutely beautiful!! Stick with it.
Reply:I would use the first name Brea and use Gwendolyn for a middle name. I agree that it is a heavy name for a young child. It is a lot to spell and pronounce. Or what about just naming her Gwen if you are really stuck on it?
Reply:I guess you could call her Gwen and it would be perfect.
Reply:I think it's cute, specially since it has such meaningful background, but I would rather put Gwendolyn as a middle name and Brea as a first name. Gwendolyn seems a little strong for a girl. But, like I said, they are both very cute.
Congratulations!
Reply:HOW ABOUT GWENDOLYN BREA I LIKE IT
Reply:If you and your husband are happy with the name, then go for it. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you're having second thoughts, think about the grandmother's and friend's middle names. Or even last names. You'd be surprised how many cobinations you can come up with. Good way to test it?...Scream it out a few times. If it still sounds good...there ya go!
